Winter Parking Restrictions for the Town of Oxford 2023-2024

Dated" October 30, 2023

Due to the winter snow conditions coming early, the Evening Winter Parking Ban now takes effect!

Night parking on the Town Streets is prohibited during the winter season from October 30th to April 15th so as not to interfere with snow removal operations.

Vehicles will be towed at the owner's expense.

Residents are asked to remove any items that are close to the road that may impede snow removal i.e. basketball nets, piles of fill, lumber, etc...

Snow is not to be pushed into the street by the homeowner or a private contractor while removing snow from a residence or business.

The winter season is coming, and we at the town want to ensure our Public Works department can safely and effectively plow our town streets.

Water Services off to Downtown - Sunday, October 29 - 7:30 am

Town of Oxford Residents!!!

Especially those that live or work near the Downtown for Oxford.

The Public Works Team will be installing a new valve on Little River Road this Sunday, October 29th starting at 7:30am.

This seems to be the best time to shut the water off to the downtown core.

We anticipate this to be a 3 hour job if everything goes as planned.

Traffic signs will be in place so please use caution in this area.

These improvements are needed to allow our team to isolate this area during a water break vs interruption all of the downtown core.

The following areas should expect water interruptions between the hours of 7:30-noon, at minimum, on Sunday October 29th.

Main Street

James Street

Smith Street

Ellis Street

Waverly Street

Prince William Street

Duke Street

and surrounding areas.

It is also necessary that the hydrants in the downtown core also be down during this event.
