Alternative Voting Bylaw 05-2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Alternative Voting Bylaw 05-2024 was approved by Council on June 12, 2024, and is in effect as of the date of this publication, June 13, 2024.

The purpose of this bylaw is to give the Town of Oxford the option to enter alternative voting methods in future elections.
Copies of the Alternative Voting Bylaw 05-2024 may be inspected at the Town Hall, 105 Lower Main Street, during regular business hours. The Bylaw may also be viewed on the Town’s website at www.oxfordns.ca

Virtual Growth Mindset Workshop - Northern Zone NS Health

Northern Zone Mobile Health and Wellness Team of Nova Scotia Health is hosting a Virtual Growth Mindset Workshop for developing resiliency skills, building self-awareness and emotional intelligence, strategies for overcoming adversities, reframing negative thinking, and finding purpose. Self-care, stress management, prioritizing physical and mental wellness, setting boundaries, and practicing compassion are also discussed.

Workshops are Thursdays: June 6, 13, 20, and 27 from 1:00PM to 2:30PM via Zoom. An invitation is required by emailing NZHWT@nshealth.ca to sign-up.

The Public Works team will be repairing a water main break on Main Street at the intersection of Rideau and Main Street.

Water leak on Little River Road - June 11, 2024

Crosswalk painting today - June 5, 2024 starting at 9:00 AM

The Oxford Public Works Team together with Pat Rushton will be painting crosswalks throughout the town this morning starting around 9:00 AM. Please use caution in the areas being painted to allow the job to be completed fully and safely.

Waverly Street Water Break June 4, 2024

Update 1:59 PM - Water services are now restored. Residents should run their cold water for 10 minutes to help flush the system. Thank you for your patience.
 
Update 1:20 PM - The Public Works team has repaired the leaks and is currently testing the lines. 
 
Update: 11:30 AM - The Public Works Department Team is repairing the leak first detected this morning and it has come to their attention that a new leak has been detected and Public Works will be starting on that leak shortly. Currently, water interruptions will be noticed on James, Smith, Waverly, Water, Ellis, Prince William, and Duke Streets throughout the day.
The Town of Oxford Public Works Department is busy this morning repairing a water leak on Waverly Street. Work started at around 6:50 AM. Waverly Street will be closed from the intersection of Water and Ellis Streets.
Please use caution in this area.
