RE: Oxford Town Council Approves Budgets
OXFORD, Nova Scotia –Town Council approved the General Operating Budget of $3,322,978, a Water
Operating Budget for $821,550 and a Capital Budget for $516,429.

Watermain Flushing - May 30, 2025

Notice from public works:
Watermain flushing will be occurring throughout the Town.
During this time customers may experience turbidity (cloudy water) and low pressure and may need to run their cold water for 5-10 minutes or until it becomes clear.
Public works recommends that you thoroughly flush your system following water main flushing to release any entrapped air or sediment from your system.

Traffic signs will be in place.

Little River Road Water Main Repair Wednesday May 21, 2025

**Update: 11:06 AM - The water leak has been repaired. Water services were not interrupted during this time.
Public works will be repairing a water main leak on Little River Road, tomorrow, Wednesday May 21, 2025, starting at 8:00 AM.
Traffic control will be in place, please use caution in the area.
There will be water interruptions throughout the day, areas that will experience water interruptions are as follows:
Little River Road
Sunset Ave
Seven lee Way
Crescent Ave
And surrounding areas.
Thank you for your patience while the repairs are made.

WHEREAS the Town of Oxford recognizes that no one can be discriminated against on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity or expression;
WHEREAS the Town of Oxford is a municipality open to everyone, including lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans people (LGBTQ2S+) and to all other people who identify with sexual diversity and the multiplicity of gender identities and expressions;
WHEREAS, despite recent efforts towards greater inclusion of LGBTQ2S+ people, homophobia, transphobia, and biphobia are still present in society.
WHEREAS May 17th is the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia is celebrated as such in many countries and is the result of a Quebec-based initiative promoted by Fondation Emergence starting in 2003.
WHEREAS there is reason to support the efforts of Fondation Emergence in holding this day;
It is resolved to proclaim May 17 INTERNATIONAL DAY AGAINST HOMOPHOBIA, TRANSPHOBIA, AND BlPHOBIA and to recognize this day as such.
