Forming an ATV-Friendly Community April 3, 2024

The Town of Oxford and ATVANS (ATV Association of Nova Scotia) are hosting an information session on Forming an ATV-Friendly Community.

Please come out for the presentation and share your interests, ideas, concerns, and experiences toward the goal of forming Oxford into an ATV-friendly community!

When?  Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at 6:00 PM.

Where? Oxford Capitol Theatre, 5220 Main Street.

Please note that the Oxford Transfer Station will be CLOSED on Friday, March 29, 2024.

The Oxford Transfer Station will be open for normal business hours of 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM on 

Thursday, March 28, 2024, and Saturday, March 30, 2024.

9-week employment opportunity with the Town of Oxford.

Requirements are:

Must be a Canadian citizen, Permanent Resident, person who has been granted refugee status in Canada or legally entitled to work in Canada;

Must be between the ages of 15 and 30 years old (inclusive) at the start of internship;

From and/or will be residing in Nova Scotia for the duration of the internship;

Must not be an immediate family member of host employer;

The Town of Oxford needs your help! If you have a green thumb and have time to volunteer, we would love to have you as a member of our Communities in Bloom Committee.

The goal of this committee is to enhance and sustain the visual appeal of our town and public spaces through the imaginative use of flowers, plants, trees, and landscaping.

If interested, come meet with us on Monday, March 25, 2024, at 6:30 PM at the Gazebo.

What is this event about?

At this event, members of the PEACH Research Unit of Dalhousie University will share results from an ongoing walk-and-wheel study for the Town of Oxford and are asking residents for your help and input!

Who is PEACH?

The Planning for Equity, Accessibility, and Community Health Research Unit studies ways to enhance communities to be more active and inclusive.  Our research is based on the expertise of peoples' lived experiences.

Message from Public Works:

The Public Works Team will be repairing a water valve on New Hansford Road tomorrow, March 5, 2024, starting at 8:30 AM.

 

The following locations should expect water service interruptions:

  • Pugwash Road
  • New Hansford Road
  • Horton Street
  • Upper Water Street and 
  • Surrounding Areas
