Frequently Asked Questions in regards to the Road Trails Act Bylaw for Oxford
As of October 10, 2024 the Designated Route is now open for use by Off Highway Vehicles to connect everyone to various services in Oxford.
In the document, attached to this page, gives a few FAQs that people may want to know in regards to using the new route.

Town Hall office closed 11:30AM - 1:00 PM - Voter help OPEN

To all residents:
Please note that the Town Hall office is closed today, Friday October 11, 2024 from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM for staff training.
Voter Help is still OPEN via the Council Chamber door (blue door) at the front of the building just off the sidewalk.
Town Hall and Public Works Closed Monday, October 14, 2024

Normal Office hours will recommence on

Road Trails Designation Bylaw 05-2024-2
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Road Trails Designation Bylaw 05-2024-2 was approved by Council on June 27, 2024, and is in effect as of the date of this publication (October 10, 2024).
The purpose of this bylaw is to enable the operation of off-highway vehicles on designated parts of highways to allow for trail and amenity connectivity.
Copies of the Road Trails Designation Bylaw may be inspected at the Town Hall, 105 Lower Main Street, during regular business hours. The Bylaw can also be viewed on the Town’s website at www.oxfordns.ca.

Cumberland Tourism Development Research Project

Cumberland region has engaged a consultant to undertake a Tourism Development Research Project. As part of the project, we’re looking for input from our community on tourism today and how we want it to look in the future.
We are specifically looking for additional input from tourism operators at this time to help round out the data collection to make informed decisions regarding tourism in Cumberland.

Communication - public and public works infrastructure

Communication with the public regarding public works, infrastructure, planning priorities.

Every municipality has a delicate balancing act to perform, managing scarce resources with commitments to residents, while servicing incurred debt and preparing for future infrastructure expenditures.
A typically overlooked element of these tasks is the process of public communication. While there may always be persons dissatisfied (and vocal) about the methods and speed of meeting a municipality’s responsibilities, it can be expected that effective public communication can serve to mitigate a difficult government-resident relationship.

Culvert Installation - Seven Lee Way Oct 7, 2024

The public works team will be installing a new culvert on Seven Lee Way this morning. Traffic signs will be in place.
Please use caution in the area.
