Business Online Accessibility Survey

Business Online Accessibility for Nova Scotians with Disabilities survey has been developed by Access Changes Everything Inc. through the support of the Province of Nova Scotia in partnership with the Department of Communities, Culture Tourism and Heritage.
The survey charts Nova Scotia business online accessibility. The results will tell us what is being done well, and what needs improvement.
The survey is for Nova Scotians with disabilities, and organizations or individuals who support them, to share their experiences with digital and online interactions with businesses located in Nova Scotia.
Lisa Snider at Access Changes Everything Inc. will use the results to write a public report that will be available in early 2023. The results will also help form a free digital accessibility resource for local businesses.
They are looking to reach as many Nova Scotians as possible, so please feel free to share.
There is a draw for a limited supply of $10 gift cards. The survey deadline is December 20th, 2022.

Public Works - Information regarding plugged sewer lines

The Town of Oxford is not responsible for plugged sewer lines from the residential property to the town-owned sewer main and does not perform "sewer rodding" services for the homeowner.
However, the Town of Oxford will make available their sewer rods, by appointment through public works, for residents to borrow for the purposes of "rodding" their own sewer line.
Please call 902-397-3002, Monday to Friday 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM, to request the use of the town sewer rods.
Opportunity for Aspiring Entrepreneurs in Oxford

The Dream Business Program focuses on making the idea of entrepreneurship more approachable. It provides participants with valuable tools and resources to help them figure out the business model around their idea. Participants will receive 1:1 coaching opportunities and access to new connections with other entrepreneurs and become part of the Mashup Community, which provides continued support after completion of the Program. Thanks to the help of the Provincial Government, the Program is free to rural residents in Nova Scotia.
The sessions begin in November 2022 and run once a week for six weeks. Participants will receive 1:1 coaching opportunities, new connections with other entrepreneurs and access to the Mashup Community, which provides continued support after completion of the Program. Your residents can register for the Program at MASHUP LAB.

Municipal Awareness Week November 21 - 27, 2022

Did you know that Nova Scotia has 51 municipalities with nearly 400 elected officials?
Municipal Awareness Week promotes the importance of municipal government in people's daily lives. It celebrates the dedicated mayors, wardens, councillors and public servants who are essential to the effective governance of municipalities. It also encourages public participation in council meetings, hearings, committees and elections.

Remembrance Day 2022

The Town of Oxford services will be closed on Friday, November 11, 2022, for Remembrance Day
The Transfer Station will be open on Saturday, November 12, 2022, from 8:30 to 4:30 pm and Town Hall will be open Monday, November 14, 2022, 9 am to 4 pm. For those residing in the Town of Oxford: If you require a new Transfer Station card and are unable to get into the Town Office during normal business hours:
(Monday to Friday, 9 am to 4 pm), we will gladly mail you a new card. Please remember that we can only issue one card per civic address.
To request a new card by email, please email info@oxfordns.ca include your name, civic address with post office box, and phone number.
