Town Hall Flower beds look great!

Thank you once again this year for donating your time and efforts into making our flower beds out front of the Town Hall look amazing Al and Maxine M Dobson Clarke.
They will be very colourful when the sun comes back out and helps the flowers bloom!
Thank you for all of your time and energy. It certainly doesn't go unnoticed.

A BIG THANK YOU from Town of Oxford public works department team!
Nick, Dave, Justin and Trueman would like to thank all of the residents for your patience and understanding in the process to repair the Water St. main yesterday.
A special thank you to those who dropped off coffee, ordered us supper and just simply checked in to see how we were doing.
It certainly made a difficult day that much easer and we greatly appreciate it!

PCC Activation Wildfire Evac SitRep #22 - 0830 Hrs - UPDATE

Please see the following update from the Emergency Management Office (EMO) for Cumberland County:
Activities that are now permitted include hiking, camping, fishing and the use of vehicles in the woods, except Shelburne County. The provincewide burn ban is still in place. The fine for violating the ban is $25,000
Water Street repair scheduled for Wednesday June 7, 2023

Message from Oxford Public Works Department:
Update as of 4:30 PM: The public works team continues to install the new section of water meter. If all goes well, the estimated completion is between 6:30 and 7:00 PM. Thank you for your patience.
Update as of 3:30 PM June 7, 2023: The public works team is making good progres on the repairs. Currently the old piece is being removed and the new piece is being installed. The rain is, however, slowing things down.
A slight change to the schedule for the Water Street Repair. It will now be scheduled for Wednesday June 7th starting at 7:00 AM.
We are estimating that water will be shut off around 8:30 AM.
Traffic control will be in place at the following intersections: Water St, Foundry St, and Pugwash Rd. Please obey the traffic signs.
This repair will most likely be a day and evening event. Water interruptions will be for the following areas:
Birchwood Road
Water Street
Foundry Street
Pugwash Road
Pleasant Street
Thompson Road
Waterloo Street (Shady Rest)

Province-wide Burn Ban in Effect for Nova Scotia

There is a province-wide burn ban in effect for Nova Scotia. As you are likely aware there are several wildfires in Nova Scotia. The fine for breaking the burn ban has increased to $25,000.
No outdoor fires of any kind including campfires, fireworks and other pyrotechnic devices are allowed.
Only CSA approved devices such as portable lanterns, barbeques and stoves following manufacturers instructions are permitted. Charcoal barbeques are permitted with charcoal briquettes only.

Upper Water Street Watermain Repair - Tentative June 5

An official post will be made later this week, but confirmation has been received this morning from traffic control that they are available and that the water repairs will be tentatively scheduled for Monday June 5, 2023 on upper Water Street.
We thank you all for your patience as we get all of the necessary resources lined up for this repair.
