Message from Oxford Public Works:

UPDATE 12:00 PM - Public works estimates that Pugwash Road will be open within the next hour or two as backfilling continues.

 

UPDATE 6:52 AM - Public works has been working through the night at locating and repairing the leak. Turns out there was two leaks. The water is being turned back on now slowly to test the repair. Water is now fully back on. Please call public works if you have no water 902-397-3002. Run your water for a period of time to clear cloudiness.

 

 

UPDATE 11:23 PM - Public works must shut down Pugwash Road. A detour will be in place. The detour will be Peel Street to Horton and then re-connect to Pugwash Road.

 

UPDATE: 9:30 PM - The public works team is still hard at trying to find the source of the leak. It is taking longer than expected and they may be at it for some time yet.

 

UPDATE: 2:35 PM - Public works will need to shut off the water. This will affect most of South Oxford. This will be happening shortly.

 

 12:45 PM - There is a watermain leak at the corner of Pugwash Road and New Hansford Road.

Please proceed with caution when travelling through the area. It is too early yet to know of possible water shut off. Will advise.

 

As with most watermain breaks, there is no estimated time for repair.
